Hello Everyone!

Please welcome Dena Garson! She’ s stopped by today to talk about all the bumps we encounter during vacation and to tell us a little bit about her new release with Ellora’s Cave!

Have you ever noticed that vacations don’t always go the way you think they will?

Foul weather might roll in and spoil plans. Sometimes illness puts a damper on things (and, yes, I consider PMS an illness). More often than not, it’s a person (or persons) that make your trip uncomfortable or downright unpleasant.

Shoot – I’ve had vacations go awry before leaving home!

A flat tire or a misplaced passport can delay your departure. The dishwasher taking a nosedive might force you have to shell out cash you planned to use on your trip. Oh! But the “best” one I’ve experienced:  The @#$% cat deciding the suitcase was a good place to use in place of the litter box!! Do you know how hard it is to get the smell of male cat urine out of fabric and faux leather??? Gaa!

When they do work out, vacations can be relaxing and give you a sense of renewal. If you plan it right, you get to see someplace new and have an adventure or two. If you’re really lucky, perhaps even mark something off your bucket list.

In my new story, Down to Business, Leigh Templeton is determined that she and her husband, John, will have the opportunity to enjoy a weekend getaway. John, unfortunately, has a few things that he needs to finish at the office otherwise he’ll be taking work with him. Leigh has a few ideas to make sure John finishes an extremely dull contract review so he can focus on her instead of work during their vacation.

Find out what lengths Leigh goes to in order to make sure they have a work-free weekend. Down to Business is now available on Ellora’s Cave.

Now it’s your turn:  How far would YOU go to make sure your vacation got off to a great start? Inquiring minds want to know!
Best wishes,
Virginia Cavanaugh

Six Sentence Sunday

Hello Everyone!

Decided to share six sentences from a WIP titled Breaking the Rules. Hope you enjoy. :)

His head turned and he met her gaze. Andi’s heart rate increased as she snapped her head down and turned, taking a new found interest in her drink on the bar.

“Busted,” Margo said in a low sing song voice. “Don’t look now, because he is coming this way. I’ll leave you two to catch up.”

“Margo,” Andi ground out through clenched teeth before Margo retreated with a smile only a mischievous friend could give.

Be sure to check out all the talented authors who have posted six sentences today!  http://sixsunday.com/

Cupid’s Choice Blog Hop

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the Cupid’s Choice Blog Hop!  If you came by this post and weren’t on the tour, click HERE and don’t miss out on all the fun. :)

I have been working like crazy lately, so I wasn’t able to write a special scene for the blog hop, but I decided to share a scene with you instead from a WIP I’ve been working on.

It involves a sexy were-wolf named Konrad.

And his reluctant mate, Tyra.

Hope you enjoy. :)

“Oh.”  Her gaze dropped to his chest.  The black T-shirt he wore hugged his large pecs and biceps, ending at his lean waist.  She found herself wondering what it would feel like to touch him—to push her hands under the fabric of his shirt and caress all that hardness.  Desire coiled low in her belly.  She heard his quick intake of breath.  Her head snapped up as she heard the half growl, half moan he released.  Her gaze locked with his, the amber of his eyes glowing with a rich intensity.  That wondrous smell hung thick in the air around her.  She wanted to bathe in it.  Lust unlike anything she’d ever experienced gripped her.  She stared at his mouth, wondering what his lips would feel like against her own.

He inhaled another breath and released it with a possessive rumbling voice.  “Mate.”

For Six Sentence Sunday, I am going to share a bit from my new release Mixing Business with Pleasure. Hope you enjoy! :)

“I’ll need your address.”

Of course. Duh. He’d been waiting for her to volunteer the information. It wasn’t as if he were some stalker type who already knew where she lived. Although the thought of him playing Peeping Tom through her bedroom window had her core tingling.

Release Week Day Five

Hello Everyone!

Thanks so much for joining me this week to celebrate my Ellora’s Cave debut, Mixing Business with Pleasure!

Now a treat! Here is a piece of the opening scene in Evan’s point of view. Hope you enjoy. :)

Evan Fitz sighed as he leaned back in his leather swivel chair and tossed the light-colored folder onto his desk. He couldn’t concentrate on the reports lying inside it. Instead, wicked fantasies of a woman dressed in a modest business suit danced in his head.

He ground his teeth as he rubbed a hand down his face. Sonia Brooks would be the death of him. Never in his memory had a woman affected him so. He found himself dreaming of her most nights, wondering if her light brown hair would feel as silky in reality as it did in his dreams. Or if her body would be as hot and welcoming. The torrid scenes left him hard and aching for release. Release he should never even think about taking with her.

Normally his view on inner-office dalliances was crystal clear, but meeting Sonia Brooks sure had him rethinking his outlook. He fisted his hand in his lap. He wanted to slide the button free at the closure of her blazer and push it off her shoulders. His eyelids slid closed as he repressed a moan. What would it be like to palm her full breasts? His cock twitched behind his zipper.

The phone on his desk gave a high-pitched shrill and he sat up, eyes popping open, as he pushed away the remainder of the fantasy. Phone clenched in his hand, he spoke into the receiver. “Evan Fitz.”

“Yes, Mr. Fitz. Mr. Golwyn would like to see you in his office,” the cheery voice replied.

“Okay. I’m on my way.” He hung up the phone and took a deep breath as he glanced at the clock. Already past five. What could the boss man want this late in the day?

“Only one way to find out,” he mumbled as he rose from his seat and made his way toward the office door. His steps slowed as he caught the familiar scent that had haunted him for the last several months. Citrus mixed with the right amount of floral spice. Subtle, not overpowering. And then the woman came into view. He continued toward her, watching the sexy sway of her hips. “Good evening, Sonia. I figured you’d be headed out by now.”

She returned his smile. “Actually, I’ve been called into a last-minute meeting with Mr. Golwyn.”

Release Week Day Four Thursday Thirteen Addition

Hello Everyone!

I hope all of you that purchased Mixing Business with Pleasure have enjoyed it! Since today is also Thursday Thirteen, I decided to share thirteen sentences from Mixing Business with Pleasure!

Sonia beat a path to her office as soon as they said their goodbyes to Mr. Golwyn. She plopped down in her leather chair and a huff of air escaped her lips. She needed to figure out how she was going to control her over-active libido while working on this project with Evan. The very thought of talking about the act of sex with him was a turn-on. It also made her feel like an idiot. She might have a thing about fantasies involving him, but that didn’t mean it was reciprocated.

“Hey.”

Sonia darted her gaze up to see Evan leaning against the doorway of her office. A lock of his hair had fallen across his forehead. She wanted to push it back into place. Hell, she wanted to hold two handfuls of his silky hair as he… “Yeah.”

“I was thinking maybe I could pick us up some dinner, and we could meet up at your place to get started on the project.”

Sonia’s fingers began to flutter at her neckline. She could be professional, even alone…in her home…with him. “That sounds good.”

Release Week Day Three

Hello Everyone!

So happy that Mixing Business with Pleasure will go live today! It’s so exciting joining the author ranks of Ellora’s Cave!

Today I’m going to share a taste of Mixing Business with Pleasure with you.

Mr. Golwyn reached down and opened his side desk drawer and brought up a box, placing it on his desk. “This is our product.”

Sonia felt heat creeping up her neck and face as her eyes peeled open a little wider. Oh, you have got to be kidding me. She stared at the shiny blue box that read X-stasy Ultra-Thin Condoms. She blinked, hoping she’d read it wrong, but alas the name didn’t change.

Release Week Day Two

Hello Everyone!

When I came up with the idea for Mixing Business with Pleasure, I didn’t realize how much fun it was going to be to write. This was the first time that I centered a plot solely around the characters getting together. Usually my objectives in the meat of the story are what hit me first, and then I develop my romance around the plot. So this was a nice change of pace. I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. :) Get ready, because Mixing Business with Pleasure will be released tomorrow!

Today’s prize is an ebook copy of Winter’s Shadow. Leave a comment below to be entered into the drawing.  And congrats to Becky, yesterday’s winner. An email will be headed your way. :)

Best wishes,

Virginia Cavanaugh
