Teaser Tuesday

Hello Everyone!

Back for teaser tuesday.  Today I will give you a peek into Winter’s Shadow.  😀

Mark tossed his head back and laughed. “You won’t do it.”

Julia let the snowball fly, and it hit him in the shoulder.

“Oh really? It’s on now.” He jumped down off the porch and grabbed up a handful of

Peels of laughter escaped her lips as she ran and dodged the snowballs coming her

way. She ducked around the side of the wood shed, picking up a handful of snow to lob at

him as he came around the corner. It landed on his face, but it didn’t slow him down.

She felt his hand snake around her waist and then they were both headed for the

ground. He twisted, taking the brunt of the fall, and she landed with her back to his

stomach. Then he was piling snow on her head, and she squealed and laughed at the same

time, flinging snow at him with her free hand.

“You give?” he called out.

“Yes! Yes! I give,” she replied between heaving breaths.

He loosened his hold, and she turned over in his arms to look at him. Her hair was

sopping wet from the quickly melting snow he had piled on her. “You know, you don’t

play fair.”

He gave a hearty chuckle. “No, you just don’t lose well.”

She made no move to get off him as they both caught their breath. Her hand came up

to brush a matted wet clump of her hair out of her face. “Oh I bet I look a fright.”

His hand came up and cupped the side of her face. “No. You look like a beautiful

snow angel.”

They continued to stare into each other’s eyes.

“I want to kiss you so bad right now,” he whispered.
